ASL-Interpreted Play - Peter and the Starcatcher

Theatre Raleigh is excited to be offering an ASL interpreted performance on June 21st of their production of Peter and the Starcatcher.

Summary:
The Tony-winning play, based on the best-selling novels, upends the century-old story of how an orphan boy becomes the legendary Peter Pan.

Peter and the Starcatcher playfully explores the depths of greed and despair… and the bonds of friendship, duty and love. Though not a musical, this play incorporates musical elements to create its magical storytelling. This production uses ingenious stagecraft and imaginative innovation to bring the story to life. While Peter and the Starcatcher is not considered a children’s show, it is appropriate for young people 8 years and older. Rated G

GCS Fundraiser for Deaf Field Day

Guilford County Schools Deaf Education Program will host a fundraiser to help fund the North Carolina Deaf Field Day—a beloved annual event that brings together deaf and hard-of-hearing students from across the state for a day of connection, celebration, and community.
This year, they’re partnering with Red Robin on Thursday, February 6th, 2025, to raise funds that will help this special day continue to grow and thrive.
NC Deaf Field Day is an invaluable experience that gives students the chance to engage in fun activities, build friendships, and strengthen their sense of identity and pride within the deaf community. It also plays a key role in promoting awareness and inclusivity of deaf culture in our schools and beyond.
You can support this event in one (or more!) of the following ways:

  1. Join them at Red Robin on February 6th. A portion of proceeds from meals purchased that day will go directly toward supporting the event. This is an all-day fundraiser; Guilford County Schools Deaf Education Team will be there that night starting at 6pm.

  2. Spread the word. Sharing this event with your networks will help them make an even bigger impact. Use the image above to help spread the word.

  3. Make a donation or become a sponsor. Your contribution will directly fund Field Day activities, transportation, and resources for students.

Together, we can create an unforgettable experience for deaf and hard-of-hearing students and foster a more inclusive community.
