Sign and Stride - ASL Walk/Run Club

Sign and Stride is an ASL walk/run club that meets every other Tuesday. Run or walk, all paces, any distance. ASL is the language of the event. Join us to get outside, get moving, & make new friends—all while using ASL.

Join us 10/21/25 at 6pm. We’ll meet at Latham Park, just next to the tennis courts, where the path curves up to the road. See photo below. This is just after you turn onto Cridland Rd., on your right. Street parking is available all along Cridland.

Once on a Caribbean island, a little girl is rescued from a disastrous storm by four gods—Asaka, Mother of the Earth; Agwé, god of Water; Erzulie, goddess of Love; and Papa Ge, demon of Death. So starts the myth told in this breathtaking story of joy, sorrow and the triumph of love against all forces. What We Leave Behind is a profound and timely musical exploring the impact of chronic illness on a family. When musical theatre composer Jenny receives a diagnosis of breast cancer, it seems as though her world has come crashing down around her, but what a journey she embarks on. Written and composed by husband-and-wife team Jenny Giering and Sean Barry and based upon their shared journey, What We Leave Behind is a compelling one-woman musical, addressing some of the most pressing questions of our time with both heartwarming humor and heart-wrenching honesty.  Rated PG-13

Signing Social - UNCG Women's Soccer - UNCG vs. Furman

Join us as we cheer on the Spartans as they face off against the Furman Paladins! We hope to have lovely fall weather for this outdoor Signing Social event.

See below for specific details about parking, where to go, the stadium rules, weather policies, and other important info!

Parking
For the UNCG Soccer game, you can park here, in the Walker Ave. Parking Deck. Parking is free! Once the game is finished, the arm at the deck's exit will be raised; you will not need to pay.

Admission
Admission is free! Gates will open at 5pm, and the game starts at 6:00pm. When you enter, stadium staff will search any purses, bags, items in your pockets, and strollers. And remember, admission is free!

Where to go
Drive down Spring Garden St., and at the intersection with Sterling St., turn left. You'll see some buildings on your left, and the third will be the Walker Ave. Parking Deck. Exit the parking deck and cross Walker Ave. Follow the street. You will see a dance building, gym, and tennis court then finally the soccer stadium! Once you see the tennis courts, you'll see these stairs. Head down the stairs, which will lead you to the soccer stadium area.

Stadium Rules
Rules for the stadium: alcohol and smoking are prohibited. Empty reusable water bottles can be brought into the stadium and refilled inside. Pets should stay at home, but service animals are welcome.

Weather
UNCG has an office monitoring the weather. If there is severe weather and storming, they will pause the game. Guests will be moved into a different building for safety and will wait. Once the weather clears, guests will return to the stadium and the game will resume.

No tickets are required, and parking is free at the Walker Ave Parking Deck. You can see photos and details for the UNCG Soccer Stadium here. To view the policies for the facility, including what items are not permitted and their weather policy, click here.

he match on the 26th is an opportunity to highlight and recognize the athletes for their incredible accomplishments. They will have their Olympic medals with them! There will be a pre-match Meet & Greet at the Fan Fest.

Sign and Stride - ASL Walk/Run Club

Sign and Stride is an ASL walk/run club that meets every other Tuesday. Run or walk, all paces, any distance. ASL is the language of the event. Join us to get outside, get moving, & make new friends—all while using ASL.

Join us 9/23/25 at 6pm. We’ll meet at Latham Park, just next to the tennis courts, where the path curves up to the road. See photo below. This is just after you turn onto Cridland Rd., on your right. Street parking is available all along Cridland.

SDHHDC Fiesta Night

Join SDHHDC for their Fiesta Night, on 9/20 from 5pm–11pm.

Admission costs $10 generally ($5 with a college ID, $3 for kids 5–12, free for kids 0-5). They will serve tacos (your choice: soft shell or crunchy shell). Bring cash to play games: DINGO - $20, Jackpot - $1, Freeze K - $1.

CSDHH is partnering with Steel Hands Brewing for a fun night of trivia! Join us on September 18 from 6:30pm–9:00pm for a fun, free game of trivia!

Trivia

  • We recommend arriving at 6:30pm for trivia, which starts at 7:00pm

    • Earlier if you plan to order pizza or drinks!

  • Trivia is free to play

  • Teams of up to 6 people

  • There will be 4 rounds, 10 questions each

  • There will be prizes for winning teams

  • Deaf trivia hosts! ASL/English interpreting provided

NC Folk Festival

We’re thrilled to be partnering with the NC Folk Festival again this year! This annual event is a 3-day outdoor festival with music, dancing, food trucks, crafts & activities.

CSDHH is proud to sponsor communication access at the NC Folk Festival. There will be 5 performances on Saturday and 5 on Sunday.

Climb & Sign at Triangle Rock Club - Durham

Join them for rock climbing, signing and making new friends! All levels of signers and climbers welcome. Cost for first time climbers is $20 including rental gear, and for returners the day pass is $25 excluding gear.
