Summary:
The Tony-winning play, based on the best-selling novels, upends the century-old story of how an orphan boy becomes the legendary Peter Pan.
Peter and the Starcatcher playfully explores the depths of greed and despair… and the bonds of friendship, duty and love. Though not a musical, this play incorporates musical elements to create its magical storytelling. This production uses ingenious stagecraft and imaginative innovation to bring the story to life. While Peter and the Starcatcher is not considered a children’s show, it is appropriate for young people 8 years and older. Rated G

Megan (Natasha Lyonne) is a model high school student—bright, popular, and dating the star football player. But when her parents suspect she might be gay, they send her to True Directions, a hilariously absurd conversion therapy camp run by the strict and ultra-traditional Mary Brown (Cathy Moriarty). There, Megan meets a rebellious group of fellow “trainees” and the confident, free-spirited Graham (Clea DuVall), who challenges everything Megan thought she knew about herself. A satirical, candy-colored cult classic, But I’m a Cheerleader is a sharp, heartfelt comedy about identity, self-acceptance, and the power of love.
Also starring RuPaul, Melanie Lynskey, and Eddie Cibrian. Directed by Jamie Babbit. Learn more about the movie here!
Tickets must be purchased through The Carolina Theatre’s website.
